SPOTLIGHT on JENNIFER ADKINS

Do you know Jennifer Adkins? She's been at Unite since the Spring of 2014. These pictures speak for themselves. She works full time, has 3 kids, supports her extended family, and is still dedicated to putting in the time at Unite. She recently got sidelined for a month due to surgery, but is working her way back up.  We are proud to have you at Unite!

Here is what Jennifer has to say:

Why do I Crossfit? It's simple...I love the challenge of it, and overcoming that challenge. I also love how CrossFit offers a unique form of camaraderie and it is very powerful.  Crossfit is also very fun and shouldn’t exercising be fun?  For me it is more fun doing a workout and having other people doing similar things and then letting our competitive sides take over to push ourselves to do our very best. I'll admit it CrossFit was very intimidating at first, but i quickly realized how supportive my CrossFit family is at Unite. When I started, I was really just looking for something to get in better shape and to do the things I like to do. Then I met a ton of awesome people that were like minded and all of a sudden I had a bunch of new great friends that have my back and support me whenever it's needed. While the workouts are awesome, I feel this is the magic part.  
My personal goals have changed since I began my CrossFit journey from just wanting to be able to do one pull-up to now wanting to gain muscle and strength in all my movements. I am currently focusing on the nutrition aspect which for me is the most difficult! 
We all get lots of advise from friends and coaches but my favorite advise I've been given is to be patient. It doesn't happen in a day!
